Heart Disease and Hypnosis

Heart disease is becoming a more and more prevalent in our society, and, it is beginning to strike very early in life. There are many factors which contribute to heart disease, most of which are within our control. The contributing factors for heart disease include: stress, emotions, lack of sleep, smoking, diabetes, and being overweight.

If you still smoke, you can stop now. Smoking causes increased blood pressure; it decreases the clotting of the blood, increases your risk for cardiovascular disease, and reduces the good cholesterol that your body naturally generates. For those of you, who have tried to quit and failed, why not use hypnosis to stop now. Hypnosis is extremely successful when you consider that it changes the habits, patterns, triggers, and emotional connections that you associate with smoking.

Lack of sleep increases the risk of heart attack by increasing the risk for cancer, by contributing to diabetes, and promoting calcium buildup in the arteries of your heart. Many of us do not set aside enough time for adequate sleep and research has shown that you need to get at least seven hours of sleep a night. However, many people who allocate adequate time for sleep, frequently don't get that much sleep during the night because they are tossing, turning, making lists, figuring out what do the next day, etc. You can take sleeping pills however they have some very serious and potentially dangerous side effects. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to just close your eyes and, within a few minutes, be sound asleep?

Stress is a big contributor to heart disease by contributing to irregular heart rhythms, chest pains, increased blood pressure, and releasing stress hormones in the body which can impact blood clotting. In our society, we wear stress as a badge of honor. Unfortunately, our bodies were not made to be subjected to continued amounts of high stress.

Your emotional state of mind also can directly affects your heart health. Our body is bathed in neurotransmitters so that it can, and does, eavesdrop on our thoughts. We frequently hold onto negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, hurt, and guilt. If you can think of an event in your past and you still feel that negative emotion, then you're holding onto it. These negative emotions cause stress on the body and heart

Poor diet, or being overweight, contributes to body stress, heart stress, and high blood pressure. When you are overweight, you are more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes which causes damage to the blood vessels and makes you twice as likely have a heart attack or stroke.

Hypnosis can help you by giving you the tools and techniques for being able to quiet the mind and quiet the body so that you can sleep comfortably all night long. With hypnosis you can learn to manage stress so that your body can be more relaxed. With hypnosis you can stop smoking and release the weight. Why not consult a hypnotherapist for more information?
